You’ve probably been to hotels that talk about being ‘family friendly’ but give the impression they’d prefer you to leave the children at home. At The Swan, we’re determined that everyone has an enjoyable stay – even if they’re dipping their tiny toes in Lake Windermere for the first time.

The Library area is designed specifically with the family in mind. We have a selection of children’s games and books available, so it’s a great place for adults to unwind while the youngsters amuse themselves. Families also love the 10m swimming pool at the hotel, which guests are welcome to use at any time unless there’s an aqua aerobics class in progress.

The Great Outdoors
Wander along the hotel riverbank and experience the wonders of the Nature Trail. Run off steam after a long journey on the Junior Adventure Playground. Feed the ducks and paddle feet. Further afield hire a rowing boat and play 'Swallows and Amazons', have a picnic at Fellfoot Country Park or visit Beatrix Potter's Hill Top Farm. Horse riding, fishing, sailing, walking, the options are endless. There is nothing like fresh air for a good nights sleep!

Unwinding in the evening
A carefully created menu is available in both the River Room restaurant and Swan Inn pub where their favourite meals are created using the highest quality ingredients and given the same care and attention as the grown ups. Then unwind with a movie in your room with complimentary milk and cookies before bedtime.
