The Swan Inn always was the beating heart of the hotel and still is today. It’s a place for regular locals to mix with our guests and the boating crowd who have made their way up from the marina.

You can always be certain of a warm and friendly welcome, because when our Bar Manager recruits new staff, it’s always personality that he looks for. (After all, it’s possible to train people in new skills, but not teach them how to smile.)

Our local ales have real character
While you’re with us, why not find yourself a space amid the nooks and crannies and sample one of the local brews delivered by Cumbria Legendary Ales? Loweswater Gold, for example. Or Dickie Doodle, with its own beautiful golden colour and a distinctive aroma of American Cascade hops.

Sample our adventurous pub food and take a look at the historic pictures and documents you see framed on the walls. They will take you right back to a bygone era. But watch out for the low ceilings. It’s the way they were built back then!

Guests and other visitors are often looking for a meal of real quality. Our Bar Menu is put together with the same care and attention to detail as the menu in our main restaurant. We have a special menu designed just for children and are happy to serve your food outside in the summer – a great treat on a beautiful day.
