Things to do in the Lake District in 2018

Plan your holidays for the year

Whilst we’re patiently waiting for warmer weather and longer days, we’ve created a list of all our favourite things to do in the Lake District throughout spring and summer. We hope it’ll help you start planning your holidays, because they’ll be here before you know it (we’re sure of it).

Don't forget: 27th August is a bank holiday. Make the most of the last one before Christmas!

What’s on?

Where is Peter Rabbit? Live Theatre show, until 2nd September
This unique theatre production brings to life five of Beatrix Potter’s famous stories in a visual and musical spectacular.
Cost: From £8 for children and £10.50 for adults
Location:  Bowness-on-Windermere, LA23 3BX

Other things to do:

Make the most of the (hopefully) nice weather and head out for a run with local running group Jogging Pals

And don't leave without visiting one of our favourite places, Fell Foot National Trust (just a 4min drive or under 30min walk from the Swan). As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it's part of a special family of iconic places across the planet including the Taj Mahal, the Great Barrier Reef and the Grand Canyon. The mountain views are spectacular but don't take our word for it, head there for various activities including walking, running, swimming or hire a boat or canoe.

There's also a weekly timed Parkrun event at Fell Foot, the perfect start to Saturday mornings!
