We are expanding!

We are well underway with our very exciting transformation into a world-class spa destination and have been making the most of lockdown to commence construction.

After receiving a multi-million £ investment, The Swan has commissioned award-winning, internationally recognised architects DLG to design the extension of the landmark hotel, and specialist contractors Medlock to bring the design to reality. Interiors will be designed by the celebrated Fiona Parke of Johnston Parke Interiors, renowned for creating inspiring classic and contemporary spaces. The renovations are expected to employ over 70 workers across the contractors!

Introducing...Holte Spa

Say hello to Holte Spa at The Swan.

We are oh so excited to announce the impending opening of Holte Spa, a fresh, new and exciting concept aiming to enhance the traditional expectations of spa.

A place to relax or play; Holte Spa is devoted to relaxing, restoring and nurturing you in a way that suits you. A place of solitude or connectivity where guests are guided through expertly curated experiences to achieve harmony, health and happiness.

Stepping away from the mainstream spa brands, with a focus on sustainability, the team at Holte Spa are SO proud to be partnering with OTO, Comfort Zone and GROUND to offer experiences that are painstakingly researched, purposeful and results driven. You can expect specifically tailored thermal journeys through our spa garden; with authentic outdoor Finnish sauna, chlorine free, naturally filtered pools and cosy relaxation spaces. Bespoke treatments that go beyond the typical massage and facial offering, daily fresh food, and clean drinking in the SOUL café and of course a little bit of Swan magic thrown in.

Over the next few months we'll be sharing more information about our incredible new spa garden, exciting new treatments and of course our talented spa partners, so keep your eyes peeled!

How the building works will affect your stay

We have made every effort to ensure that any disruptions are minimal and have completed all the car-park work during lockdown so your parking situation will not be affected.

The build itself is situated on the outside of the far end of the hotel and not inside the hotel - so your internal experience of the hotel will not change at all!

Some of our rooms will be looking out onto the work - but we have closed the rooms off with the most disruption and any rooms that are still open, we have ensured that disruption will be minimal, but we have added an option in our booking journey to be able to upgrade your room to ensure that you will have a river view.

Guest experience is the most important thing for us here at The Swan and please rest assured that we have done everything to make sure that your Swanderful trip should not be affected.

What we are building

We will be growing The Swan you know and love into a bigger and more swanderful experience!

We will be turning into a world-class spa resort with an additional 30 new spa bedrooms and suites, we will be building an exceptional spa garden with a brand new outdoor/indoor pool, outdoor hot tub spas, seating areas, waterfall showers and much much more!

On top of this, we will be building brand new luxe treatment rooms alongside an amazing focus on wellness, sustainability and wellbeing.

Simply Splendid: Introducing our brand new rooms

Inspired by the bountiful countryside and riverside views surrounding the hotel, these bespoke designed bedrooms and suites offer a fresh, bright and sustainable interior while remaining in keeping with the Swan sparkle you know and love.

From luxury toiletries that are locally and sustainably made at The Bath House, to sourcing bedding and carpets from local Cumbrian manufacturers, we have truly taken every step to ensure our brand new bedrooms celebrate the very best that the Lakes has to offer.

You'll be able to enjoy 28 Splendid rooms, with some interconnecting, plus 2 incredible Splendid suites from 1st March 2022.
