At The Swan, the health and wellbeing of our guests and team is our highest priority and we do everything we can to ensure our guests have a safe and pleasant stay.
We recognise the situation is unsettling and that you may have concerns about your upcoming stay, so please review our special FAQs below.
Do I require travel insurance?
We strongly recommend taking out travel insurance prior to booking, even for travel within the UK.
What measures are in place to protect guests from coronavirus at The Swan?
During this period of uncertainty, we are actively monitoring the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) updates from the World Health Organization and follow the advice of UK government, public health authorities and medical professionals.
We have put in place various additional measures, including:
Regular team briefings to reinforce rules of good personal hygiene
Our crew have been requested to minimise personal contact such as handshakes
Clear signage around the Hotel reminds all guests and crew to wash hands, cough or sneeze into a tissue and avoid contact with your face and eyes
Hand sanitiser is available at guest contact areas such as our reception desks
Special attention has also been placed to sanitise public contact points such as elevator buttons, reception counters and conference/meeting rooms.
Deep cleaning is undertaken on check out of all rooms
We ask our crew and guests who are unwell with any symptoms of fever, flu or respiratory problems to call 111 immediately
Guests travelling from an area of concern are asked to let us know on arrival
Am I able to cancel my booking?
The Swan is operating as normal. As such, standard terms and conditions apply for all amendments and cancellations.
Any cancellations of an advance rate (non-refundable) booking or flexible rate booking within 5 days of arrival due to ‘disinclination to travel’ will be subject to our full cancellation policy.
What happens if I have been advised by my doctor not to travel or to self-isolate?
Please provide a doctor’s note or proof of travel from or within an area of concern (eg Italy). For bookings on an advance rate (non-refundable), you will be able to amend your holiday booking for alternative dates within 12 months.
What happens if there is an outbreak at The Swan?
We will follow the advice of Public Health England, asking guests to comply with any additional screening measures put in place.
What will happen if The Swan has to close or travel to Cumbria is restricted?
If we are forced to close or restrictions to Cumbria are put in place, you will be able to amend your booking to a later date within 12 months of your original booking.
