While the historic nature of our building may present some limitations, we strive to meet all current regulations and best practices. We have made every effort to ensure our hotel is as wheelchair accessible as possible.

If you are travelling by train, the neatest station is Grange-over-Sands. Situated approximately 8 miles from the hotel, this mainline station connects to destinations such as Barrow-in-Furness and Lancaster. The journey to the hotel takes about 15 minutes by car. There are also local taxi services available, and we’d be happy to provide details or arrange a booking for you.
The nearest bus stop is located just over the historic Newby Bridge, approximately a 2-minute walk from our hotel.

Your Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
We have a private car park located to the right of the hotel. We have 2 designated disabled car parking spaces. The total number of car parking is 120. The car park surface is made up of tarmac and “grasscrete”.
The main entrance can be accessed at the front of the hotel, please note there are steps, however, we can provide a ramp. Alternatively, you can access the hotel via the Holte Spa entrance, situated next to the car park. There is a sloped entrance.

Main Entrance and Reception
Our main entrance leads directly to the ground floor Reception. To the left-hand side of this area you can access The Swan Inn, Brasserie restaurant and Health Club.
The is a level, wooden floor throughout both Reception and The Swan Inn.
There is a lift located in front of the reception area which takes you to floors one, two and three.
Public Areas
All our public areas, including the reception, bar, lounges, and restaurants, are situated on the ground floor and fully accessible.
The Swan Inn area has a wooden floor. The Brasserie has a stone, tiled floor – please note there are two steps leading to this restaurant.

There is a door leading into The Swan Inn from Reception. There are also two doors leading to ground floor rooms and Holte Spa Reception. This corridor is well-lit and carpeted.
The ladies’, gentlemen’s and disabled toilets are located on the ground floor to the right of The Swan Inn entrance. The disabled toilets are equipped with vertical rails and an emergency alarm cord.
The fire alarm system is all out system across the entire site. Flashing lights where required. Assistance will be given in the event of an evacuation.
The Swan Inn & Brasserie Restaurant
Our restaurant menus cater to special dietary requirements, such as gluten-free, dairy-free, lactose-free, nut-free, vegetarian, and vegan, as standard. If you have specific dietary requirements, we are happy to arrange this in advance.
The majority of our seating is moveable. We play background music in The Swan Inn, Brasserie restaurant and toilets.
Full waiter service is available in The Swan Inn and Brasserie restaurant. These areas are bright and spacious.
Our lounges have armchairs, sofas, and coffee tables, with rugs placed throughout. There is a door connecting The Snug and Library lounges.
If you struggle with a noisy environment, we can provide a quieter table in our restaurant upon request. Room service is available, offering the full a la carte menu for guests who prefer to dine away from the busy restaurant.
Bedrooms
We have a selection of wet rooms in our accessible bedrooms, and guests can choose between twin or double beds.
There are 13 ground floor bedrooms. Two are specifically classed as being suitable for disabled persons. All rooms have baths with shower over with the exception of the disabled bedroom. Disabled bedrooms incorporate a walk-in shower and adapted bathroom, light switches and plugs.
Non-slip bathmats are provided in all bathrooms.
Holte Spa, Thermal Suite & Spa Gardens
The Holte Spa entrance has no steps and is accessible. Please note, there is a sloped entrance.
Holte Spa has a stone, tiled floor. The infinity pool is accessible via a set of steps.
There is a door leading from the Thermal Suite to the Spa Garden.
The jacuzzi in the Holte Spa Garden is accessible via a set of steps.
Health Club
Upon entry of the hotel, our Health Club is located to the left-hand side, next to Reception. There is a door leading to the Health Club, as well as doors leading to the ladies’ and gentlemen’s changing rooms. You can access the family pool and gym via doors from each changing room.
