From swimming pools to playing pool

Here at the Swan, we’re so much more than a place to sleep. We’re family friendly for a start, and for that reason, it’s important to us that every member of the family feels at home when they visit – including the pooch!

We’re based in one of the most beautiful parts of the country and we want to show that off – our grounds are home to a whole host of exciting activities for the family to enjoy on a short break to the Lake District. Our adventure play park is perfect for little ones to let their imaginations run wild, while our family-friendly pool is the perfect place for a splash around. Over hot chocolates, enjoy a game of pool in our cosy library, or take your pick from our selection of board games.

Why not try paddleboarding?

From April to October our wonderful partners ‘Paddleboard The Lakes’ are once again offering paddleboard hire and lessons from our very own marina here at The Swan. Paddleboard The Lakes are proud to be an ASI Accredited Stand Up Paddle School & abide by the high international standards and school operations.

From our waterside base you can paddle along the river Leven and out onto Lake Windermere to enjoy the beautiful Lake District views, with its classic mountain backdrop and stunning valley stretching out in front of you.

They have various packages to suit all abilities; whether you are looking for 1-to-1 tuition, giant family boards, games & challenges in their team-building sessions, or seasonal memberships & social paddles for locals – fun memories on the water are guaranteed once you come along to the Paddle Hut! We welcome the whole family, so grab your kids and your dog and let’s go!

EQUIPMENT HIRE

• Single Paddleboard / Kayak Hire:
  • £20 per board for 1 hour
  • £30 per board for 2 hours
  • £60 per board for 4 hours

• Double Paddleboard / Kayak Hire:
  • £30 per board for 1 hour
  • £40 per board for 2 hours
  • £70 per board for 4 hours

• Giant Multi-Person Board:
  • £20 per person for 1 hour hire (3-8 people)

LESSONS (1.5 hours with Instructor)

• Master The Basics:
  • £40pp for a group of 3 – 6 Adults
  • £50pp for 2 Adults
  • £65pp for private one-to-one tuition for 1 Adult

• Family Lesson – up to 6 people:
  • £40 per Adult (18+)
  • £35 per Child (Ages 8 – 18)

• Team-Building Challenge:

The perfect package for corporate days and groups who want that extra splash of fun! Learn SUP skills and enjoy team challenges as you paddle. Work together and dive in to our games – expect to get wet, laugh a LOT and come back to shore wanting to do it all again!
