The role of a kitchen porter is to be responsible for the running of their own section within the kitchen. Ensuring a high standard of cleanliness throughout all food preparation and storage areas is maintained at all times. Reporting directly to the Associate Chef Director, the Kitchen Porter must be capable of working unsupervised and managing their own cleaning tasks in all kitchen areas. We are looking for an energetic Kitchen porter with experience of working in a busy kitchen and a naturally calm manner to join our newly restructured and professional team.
The role of a Kitchen Porter/Stock Controller is to be responsible for the overseeing of deliveries of items from suppliers. All goods will be supplied/received to a standard agreed within the Company specifications. When goods are received, all deliveries will be checked against company policy specifications for quality, fitness for purpose, quantity, temperature, packaging and any additional specified parameters. E.g. dockets retained with receipts of goods documents. Goods will be received in such a way as to minimize the risk of cross contamination. Ensure all good are received in good condition, all goods are stored correctly in line with the kitchen specification guidelines. Ensure stock rotation is in line with the Company guidelines (FIFO). Ensuring all areas of the kitchens are cleaned as per specific kitchen guidelines (HACCAP). Boxes, outer wrapping and packaging will be removed and placed in refuse for disposal. Ensure refuse is removed from the food preparation area. The role of housekeeper is to be an expert in everything to do with the day to day cleaning of the hotel rooms and all hotel areas. Responsible for the welfare and upkeep of all household duties is required to maintain excellent cleanliness and welfare standards at all time.

Ideally the suitable candidate will have previous hotel experience working in a quality restaurant or gastro pub and at least 1 years’ experience as either demi or commis chef. The successful applicant will be encouraged to develop their skills and will be introduced to costing’s, budgets, GP etc and they will responsible for the development of junior members of staff, ensuring the highest levels of food standards are achieved and report directly to the Sous Chef.
